As you know, Shane and I are finally tying the knot! We're grateful to have you in our lives during this time of celebration and in lieu of a traditional wedding registry we've decided to kindly ask for your support of our favorite charities. I'm a Board member for the National Kidney Foundation Serving Minnesota and serve in honor or my mother, Patricia Koenig. 

An estimated 37 Million adults in the US have kidney disease and 90% of them don't know they have it. My mother was one of those people, and while I witnessed her journey with kidney disease, dialysis and ultimate death from complications with the disease, I've made it my mission to help the NKF lessen the suffering from the disease and save lives.

Did you know that 1 in 3 American adults are at risk for kidney disease? Major risk factors include diabetes, high blood pressure, a family history of kidney failure and being age 60 or older. Kidney disease often has no symptoms, and it can go undetected until very advanced. But a simple test can tell you if you have kidney disease. The funds we raise enable NKF to provide early detection screenings and vital patient and community services in our local community. Your gift will make a difference in the lives of many.
