Thank you for checking out our Wedding Team Kidney Page!  As many of you know, we are both living kidney donors to our fathers!  Daniel donated to his father on February 7, 2014 at Emory, and Jessica donated to her father on June 3, 2014 at Penn.  We didn't meet until 5 years later on a dating app - This particular app uses prompts to get you to share a little info about yourself and Jessica used the “two truths and a lie” option: “I’ve been to South Africa; I donated a kidney; I have a tattoo.”  Daniel responded to the prompt with "I'll show you my scar if you show me yours!"  The connection was instant and we've never looked back. 

Kidneys are what brought us together.  In fact, we donated opposite kidneys, so together we have a perfect pair.  We love supporting the National Kidney Foundation and all the work they do to support kidney patients. 

We’ve joined Team Kidney to raise funds to support the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and the work they do to help people at risk for kidney disease, those living with chronic kidney disease, and those who care for and about them.

Did you know that 1 in 3 American adults are at risk for kidney disease? Major risk factors include diabetes, high blood pressure, a family history of kidney failure and being age 60 or older. Kidney disease often has no symptoms, and it can go undetected until very advanced. But a simple test can tell you if you have kidney disease.

The funds we raise enable NKF to provide early detection screenings and vital patient and community services to our local community. Your gift will make a difference in the lives of the nearly 30 million Americans who are currently living with kidney disease and the 73 million more at risk. It’s great to have you on the team.
